Tamilnadu - [Part - 2] - Melmaruvathur, Chidambaram and Kumbakonam

Day - 2

From Mahabalipuram visited Melmaruvathur Aadi Parashakthi Temple. Actually this was not in our list. But get to know on our way to chidambaram. Here we can see people wearing red color dress.

Now it's time for lunch. Visited Archana resort on our way. Food was just awesome.

Next place visited was 'Chidambaram - Nataraja Temple'. In Tamilnadu most of the temples are very big in size and we felt this temple was one of the biggest. But except main "Nataraja Swamy' mandir all of the other spots were poor in maintenance. May be they are now planning to paint it...we can see first 3 steps from Top view just painted and more to go.

All of the major 'Gopura's will have 'Nataraja Swamy' postures only. The major notable info is "Chidambara Rahasyam" - to get to know about this, we have to take a special ticket. Priests will show and explain in different languages :-)
And the "Koneru" was not being used. This is really very big in size and wondered why are they not maintaining it?

After coffee break started again....

Next visited "Surya Narayana" Temple between Chidambaram and Tanjavur.
It has Navagraha idols and placement was accurate.

Halt at hotel "Chella" , Kumbakonam.
